Newspaper Print Nails

For this next tutorial I will be doing another nail art tutorial. I personally love this one, not only because it looks great but everybody wants to know how you did it just because it’s so detailed. It gives the effect of copying a design/image and pasting it on the nail. It really physics your friends.

To get started you will need a light colored nail polish. Usually I prefer white or a very light grey for the base coat. The next thing you will need is a sheet or two of news paper. I’d make sure that the news paper has lots of letters and words on it instead of pictures. You should also have a clear coat or a top coat. You don’t always need a clear coat but I always, always use a clear coat just because I find the polish last longer and it adds a little shine too. And lastly is the thing that makes the nails work, believe it or not its rubbing alcohol.

To prepare…
There isn’t really much that you need to do, but there is one really important step and that needs to cut the news paper into little rectangles. These rectangles need to be about a centimeter long and wide. Of course this all depends on the length of your nails. You should always be careful of making sure that the newspaper squares are the correct length, because the pieces can’t be too big or small they have to fit just right. You will have trouble if you don’t double check. Then another little tip is setting up a station type thing for your rubbing alcohol. The reason why you need to do this is because you are going to be dipping your nail in it so you need to make sure you can fit your nail in it. I usually just pour a little bit in the cap/lid of the rubbing alcohol bottle and that I think works the best. Then you should be ready to go.

Now the fun part...
Once you have your rubbing alcohol station set up and your newspaper cut out to the perfect length, you can start by painting you’re nails with the color you picked. Once this is done and your nails are completely dried then you may dip one finger in then quickly grab one of the little squares of news paper and stick it on. Wait a couple seconds then you can take it off. You should see that the ink has transferred. After finished all nails then add a base coat. Adding a base coat is very important, it makes sure that none of the ink rubs off. Then your nails can dry and they will be complete.

I hope you like this technique as much as I do. I thought it was pretty cool. Thanks for reading. I hope you were or will be successful with this and remember to comment, subscribe and suggest other ideas.
